LOCATIONAL VARIATIONS IN CONSTRUCTION RESOURCES PRICES IN LAGOS METROPOLIS
ABSTRACT
Construction resources prices have been found to vary different locations within Lagos state. The purpose of this study is to characterize and show the variations in construction resources prices due to location from where the resources are available, sourced and purchased. In
other to achieve this, a market survey was conducted in Lagos state by means of a data collection performa at

the selected local government areas within Lagos state for the selected wet construction resources prices. Data collected from the market survey was analyzed and processed using Microsoft Excel software and the results was various presented on tables and figures. The analysis shows that how prices of construction resources vary from one location to another, with the percentage variations of the prices and the locational prices index of the construction resources. The results also shows the locational variations in prices of construction resources from one location to another and also established that only very few construction resources have uniform prices across Lagos state. The study therefore recommend that construction resources should readily available at all locations in Lagos state to ensure a competitive market and also construction resources prices should be properly regulated to ensure that price variations does not occur within Lagos state This study would be very useful and helpful to the construction industry participants, as it will act as a good guide and technique for monitoring and analyzing the rate of price variations of construction resources prices in the construction industry.
